The Ion features a stock adjustable trigger. It includes adjustable pre-travel, post-travel, and trigger pull weight (aka. magnetic retension).
· Pre-travel: The length of the trigger's forward swing. Screw inward for a shorter pull.
· Post-travel: The length of the trigger's rear (pull) swing. Screw inward for a shorter pull.
· Magnetic retension: The weight for the trigger pull. Screw inward for greater pull weight.
Trigger post-travel is adjusted by a small setscrew located in the trigger itself. Pre-travel and magnet adjustment adjusted through the same adjustment, which is a vertical setscrew located in the frame (behind the trigger). The stock trigger and all other Ion triggers made by Smart Parts (Strang trigger, Punishers trigger, etc) are adjusted using a 0.05" allen wrench. The magnet adjustment is done using a 1/8" allen wrench (described later).
Trigger adjustment

Trigger magnet adjustment is accomplished by adjusting a screw located behind the trigger, through the bottom of the trigger guard. This screw attracts the magnet that's installed in the rear of the trigger, pulling the trigger to the "unpulled" position. Use a 1/8" allen wrench to adjust this. Screwing the magnet in will decrease the pull length and make the trigger feel heavier; unscrewing the magnet will make a longer pull and allow the trigger to feel lighter.
