My Markers -> Recreational markers -> 2003 Excalibur
I used this gun from late 2004 until around mid 2006. It developed a number of problems including leaks from a few spots. I tried to fix the issues but the nature of the Excalibur design is to prevent user-servicing, so there's not much you can do except replace parts to narrow the problem down. In the end I parted the gun out. Regardless of that, here's a list of the parts and specifications...
· 2003 model Excalibur serial 369
· Red acid wash anodizing
· MAC solenoids
· Tadao board M5
· Red lazer eyes
· Red board indicator LED
· JMJ eye covers
· Stock double trigger
· DBN 15º vertical mount
· Lightened stock bolt
· Freak barrel 14"
· Old-style Dye grips
· LPR tester port
· Shocktech drop with SP HP Max-Flo MF-I 88/4500
Electronics:
I used this gun as a testbed for some quick LED mods that could be used on other guns. Most noticeably was my relocated board indicator LED, newly installed on the rear of the grip frame.
I also installed some red "laser eyes" to work with the Tadao board.
LPR Tester:
To allow for quick tuning and adjustment, I drilled and tapped some holes in the rear of the marker body to allow the attachment of a threaded LPR testing gauge. This allows the user to screw on the gauge, test the gun out with paint and air (if needed), then take off the testing gauge and reinstall the plug all without waiting for loctite to seal. You could even play with the tester gauge on there, although it'd not be a good idea of course.
I also took a few minutes to cut some stock off the bolt. I left a small piece intact in the middle to maintain stability. I don't think this mod does much, if anything to performance, but at least it's something.
