My Markers -> Recreational markers -> Pro/Carbine
This was one of my first markers (it was the first marker I bought new). I've still got it, and it still works fine. I've sold the gun a couple times but I always seem to end up with it after a few days/weeks. After doing that for a few years while trying to sell it, I just gave up and decided I would keep it. Here's the specifications:
· Tippmann Pro/Carbine serial 28437
· Diamond lab double trigger
· Psychoballistics Model98 Rocket Cock
· SP Freak Smartgrips
· SP old-style drop forward bar
· BSA lazersight with pressure-activated switch
· Prolite vertical adapter
· PMI 3-stage expansion chamber (serves as a foregrip)
· Freak barrel with 10" Freakfront
· Custom modified right-feed elbow, no horizontal foregrip
· Custom trigger job, very short trigger pull.
I performed one of my classic trigger jobs to the trigger/sear interaction, in effort to lessen the trigger pull stroke. It uses a relatively short pull with an almost "electronic" feel, with no obscure sideffects. No, I don't provide this service to the public...don't bother asking.
I took a Rocket Cock handle and guard from a Model98 kit and retrofitted it to work on this gun. The guard is epoxied onto the top of the frame, and serves it's purpose nicely. You can see I also cut off the stock foregrip covering the barrel and drilled/tapped the upper receiver for screws to hold the feedneck on.
The gun has a nifty lazersight that can be acticated by pressing the button right behind the expansion chamber. All the kids at the field were scarred of "the gun with the lazer".
Here is the original picture from the month that I bought the gun. I used to screw the CO2 tank right into the vertical adapter and let it hang there under the gun.
In the future I am planning to install a custom ram/hammer setup along with a new board to make it fully electropneumatic. Althogh I have the materials for this mod, I'm not sure when I will actually get around to it.
