General disassembly and tune-up:
This is the standard fee for any shooting/leaking problems, and can also be added onto other repairs if the marker needs a good cleaning and regreasing. Any shooting/leaking problems will require this fee as a minimum (labor charge). The general tune-up includes the following tasks:
· Service for the marker and regulator; the solenoid will be cleaned only if necessary to remedy a problem.
· Basic disassembly of the bolt, cleaning and re-greasing the o-rings and other seals. Solenoid inserts and other components aren't removed, again unless necessary to remedy a problem.
· Includes the labor charge for repairing leaking/shooting problems.
· Replacment of any damaged or worn o-rings. Replacing speciality bumpers isn't included (although they are cheap).
· Adjusting dwell to an optimal level.
· Cost for replacement parts, should you need them, is not included. There may be added charges to remedy some problems you may be experiencing, depending on the issue (I would quote you before installing the part). Contact for a specific quote.
General tune-up costs $15 for the Shocker NXT.
Complete disassembly and rebuild:
This is an upgraded service from the "general" tune-up. The complete disassembly and rebuild is most often used for newly-purchased used markers, or alternately for markers that are about to be sold or traded off (which will hopefully add to the selling price). This service involves the following:
· Service for the marker, regulator(s), and solenoid. You can send in multiple vertical regulators if you have backups.
· Complete disassembly of all pneumatic components; thorough cleaning to remove all accessible debris, moisture, or grease. Solenoid inserts, vertical adapter, and solenoid manifold are all disassembled and cleaned.
· Complete rebuild of all standard o-rings on the entire marker, regulator(s), and solenoid manifold. Bumpers are replaced if necessary. Solenoid internal seals aren't included.
· Rebuilding the solenoid inserts is performed if necessary.
· Includes the labor charge for repairing leaking/shooting problems as well.
· Adjustment of dwell and all other electronic settings to their optimal levels (any board).
· Cost for replacement parts, should you need them, is not included. There may be added charges to remedy some problems you may be experiencing, depending on the issue. Contact me for a specific quote.
· This service requires approximately 20-40 minutes of downtime, or more if there is a persistent problem.
Complete disassembly/rebuild costs $25 for the Shocker NXT.
Electronics repair:
· Battery connector repair ($5) - This is the general price for 9v battery connector-related problems. This incluses reattaching wires to the mainboard, splicing a broken or cut wire, or replacing the battery snap itself.
· Trigger microswitch repair ($12) - Replacement of a broken trigger microswitch. Please specify either a 25 gram (stock) or slightly heavier 80 gram switch when you send the board in. This repair applies to all available boards.
· Circuit (IC) component repair ($10-15) - This is the cost to replace a broken circuit component on the circuit board. This could be a resistor, diode, transistor, or some other part. These problems are uncommon, but not completely unheard-of. The cost is $10 for most repairs however parts that must first be special-ordered cost an additional $5 (contact for details).
· Upper board grip screw damage repair ($15) - This is the cost for repairing damage from screwing the grip panel screws in too far. The board can always be repaired; however the solenoid may have been damaged when the board was impacted. Solenoid damage is rare, however can still occur. I will let you know if this is the case with your board/solenoid. Shown below is a severely damaged board. Shorter grip screws are also available at $0.75 each.
· Power/dwell button repair ($10) - This is the cost for repairing the actual button on the surface of the circuit board. If the switch fell apart or completely broke off, this is what you need. This isn't a repair for the clear actuator in the frame (if it's broken then it would need to be replaced). The repair can only be guaranteed if both the solder pads are intact (contact if unsure) however we can usually repair it even if the pads are damaged/missing. You don't need to send in the pieces that fell off the switch.
· Wire harness connector replacement ($15) - If your wire harness connector broke off, it will replaced with a brand new one for this price. This is also the cost for replacement of the connector if the pins are bent and can't be straightened out. Pictured below is a Virtue board, which is a common ailment.
· LED repair - see custom LED mod further down on the page.
· Eye ribbon connector reinstall ($10) - I can reattach the connector if it broke off your board (and you still have it).
· Shocker NXT Vision eye repair ($15) - Cost for repairing a lightly damaged Vision eye emitter or detector. In some cases the damaged ribbon will be beyond repair, if that is the case then there's no charge for the attempt.
Custom Modifications:
· Pulse RF transmitter install ($5) - Cost for installing the RF transmitter connector onto an Ion solenoid. At the moment we don't stock the connectors so you'll have to provide it.
· Custom LED mod ($15) - This involves installing a new LED on the upper board that will shine out the back just like the stock blue one. Available colors are green, red, yellow, orange, white, or blue (stock). This is the perfect finishing touch to any color scheme.
· Flipped switch mod ($10) - Cost for flipping the trigger microswitch to the correct (flipped) position. If the switch is in the unflipped position then it won't work in the Shocker NXT frame. This is for the stock or any aftermarket board.
· Dovetail set screw mod ($6) - This modification is for any frame that already has a dovetail rail built-in. For people that often switch between a drop forward and a regular rail for their bottomline, the mod involves drilling and tapping a new hole for the integrated dovetail set screw to sit within. The purpose of this is to allow you to install a drop forward or other rail onto the frame without removing the set screw for the rail each time (which is quite time-consuming). The price includes the new screw if you need it.
· Visible eye mod ($20) - I may offer this in the future, I'm not sure at this point.
· SFT board eye converter - coming soon (replacement wire harness that alows you to use a board programmed for reflective eyes with your Shocker NXT beam-break eye system).
· Membrane mod - no longer available.
