ELECTRONICS: connectors

Assorted connectors and parts for wiring are available here. Some items are OEM replacements while others are intended for custom installations.

Soldering skills are required for almost every item on this page.
· If needed, practice your soldering skills using spare wires.
· Some wires are thin and may be difficult to strip. Leave plenty of extra length in case you need to strip again.
· Double and triple check your connections when wiring up your marker. Every marker uses different wires for their components so you will need to make a diagram of your own, or find one online. Unfortunately it's not possible to use the same colors as your factory wire harness because the same connectors are used on multiple boards.
· Be sure to use heatshrink tube or electrical tape to insulate your solder connections. A small amount of heatshrink is included with every item on this page.

Connector comparison

· All pigtails ship with 6 inches of black wire pre-attached to the header. The wires are ready to be trimmed, stripped, and soldered.

Identification: check your current wire harness. The 1.25mm connectors are flat on top whereas 1.5mm connectors have a small protrusion sticking out (see picture)

Pico-Blade pigtail

The small Japanese 1.0mm connectors are uncommon due to their tiny size, but they can be found on some markers:
· J4 Torque (eyes)
· Smart Parts Shocker SFT/Nerve (10-pin) and Ion (4-pin). The double-ended wire harness are purchased as a complete unit further down the page.

Milli-Grid crimp housing

Milli-grid wire harnesses are used in some older markers (listed below). You can build your own Milli-grid connector using pre-crimped wires and a crimp housing to hold them.
· 4-pin: (nothing?)
· 6-pin: NME boards, some DM3 boards
· 8-pin: NME, Shocker Sport HSW S-Frame, some DM3 boards
· 10-pin: (nothing?)
· 12-pin: Bushmaster (including Chaos boards), Morlock boards, Intimidator, Freestyle.
· 14-pin: Intimidator
The below pre-crimped wires are inserted into this housing to form a functional pigtail connector.
This ships as an empty housing as shown in the picture; nothing else included.

Molex 2.0mm "Milli-Grid" pre-crimped wire

Milli-Grid pre-crimped wire

This is a pre-crimped wire that is used to form a pigtail used by the Milli-Grid connectors. This wire plugs into a crimp housing (below) to form a pigtail.
The markers that use this series connector are listed below.
This ships as a bare 3 inches (7.5 millimeters) of 26 gauge wire, with one end crimped. You'll need multiple pre-crimped wires to form a complete pigtail.
· Available in black, red, blue, green, or yellow.

9v battery connector

9v battery connectors

Connectors for 9v batteries, suitable for just about every electronic marker out there that uses one. The connector has eight inches of wire and comes in two types:
· Middle snap: Wires connect to the middle/side of the battery snap. This is suggested for Shockers and Nerves, or other markers with a small battery compartment.
· End snap: Wires connect to the end of the battery snap. This is suggested for Ions, Impulses, Shocker Sports, or other markers with larger space available for the battery to sit.

Shocker/Nerve wire harness

Used with all Shocker/Nerve circuit boards. The marker's upper and lower boards are connected together using this 10-pin wire harness.
This wire harness is updated and has "protrusions" on the plugs, which allow easier removal and installation. The wires are also thicker.

Used with all Ion circuit boards. The marker's mainboard and eye-board are connected together using this 4-pint wire harness.

Ion membrane pad connector

Membrane pad connector

Male connector that is compatible with the Dye DM4/5/C membrane pad. The spacing between each solder terminal is 0.100 inches.
This is not for use with a DM4/5 board, rather it's commonly used for custom modifications that involve installing a membrane pad on another marker.

Shocker/Nerve wire harness connector

Replacement crimp connector header for the Shocker and Nerve wire harness. This will work with the stock upper and lower board, as well as all aftermarket boards. Precision soldering skills required to install.

Ion eye wire connector

Ion eye harness connector

Replacement crimp connector header for the Ion eye wire harness. Choose between the top-entry (located on the mainboard) or the side-entry (located on the eye daughterboard). These will work with the stock and all aftermarket boards. Precision soldering skills required to install.
