This is a relatively "drop-in" modification for the current Shocker SFT. It involves a new firing assembly using the stock body and parts, which will essentially turn the gun into one of the prototype "03 Shocker" markers (the working name for this marker was Legion Shocker). If you're not aware, this was an older design that was shelved in 2002, at which point SP created the current open bolt Shockers. It features an ultra-efficient poppet-based design using a closed bolt firing action. The max ROF is limited to 14-bps which is the cause for it not being released.

I've come up with a dozen different models what will work using various sets of components. For instance one works with the same solenoid manifold but uses new solenoid inserts; another uses the same inserts with a new manifold; a third uses the same inserts with one of the body set screws removed; the list goes on. Pictured below is an early version of one of my drop-in models, which uses the same inserts but requiers one of the body set screws to be removed. The model I'm fabricating is similar but has a number of organizational changes.

The actual version I'm making will require some milling to the body, altered solenoid inserts, and a three-way version of the stock four-way Shocker solenoid (the solenoid looks the same from the outside, except it has a different spool).

This isn't yet finished but I'm indeed working on it. Along with the new firing assembly will come a new lower board with slightly altered programming, that will allow the marker to use the same electronics hardware but function as closed botl instead.

Rumor has it that at least two separate aftermarket developers (not including myself) have looked into this design in the past, but backed away from it since it requires a different firing sequence on the lower board. Fortunately, I am not stopped by that problem.
